What Is the JKPSC CCE?

The Jammu & Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is the most prestigious state-level exam for J&K domicile candidates. Conducted by the J&K Public Service Commission, it opens doors to elite gazetted posts including JKAS, J&K Police (G) Service, and J&K Accounts (G) Service.

If the expected 100 vacancies are confirmed, this will be one of the largest CCE cycles in recent years — a massive opportunity for aspirants.

2

Main Examination

Eight conventional essay-type papers — General Studies, Essay, optional subjects, and language papers. Carries real weight in final merit.

3

Personality Test (Interview)

Final stage for Mains qualifiers. Tests analytical ability, leadership, and general awareness.

What the PYQs Tell Us

Analysing previous JKPSC CCE papers reveals clear patterns. These topics have consistently dominated the Prelims GS Paper I:

📌 High-Frequency Topics in JKPSC CCE Prelims

History of J&K Indian Polity & Constitution Geography of J&K Economy & Budget Current Affairs Science & Technology Environment & Ecology Art & Culture of J&K National Schemes & Policies CSAT / Reasoning

For Mains, begin selecting your optional subject early — it requires deep, focused preparation well before the notification drops.

How to Get Ahead Right Now

The notification isn't out yet — which means you have a head start. Use this window wisely:

  • Start with NCERT foundations — History, Geography, Polity, and Economics. Backbone of both Prelims and Mains.
  • Give extra time to J&K specific content — geography, history, culture, and governance. This is where JKPSC differs from UPSC.
  • Follow daily current affairs with a J&K lens. Local schemes, appointments, and developments are frequently tested.
  • Solve PYQs from 2019–2024 to understand difficulty level and topic weightage. Don't skip CSAT — 33% is non-negotiable.
  • Begin answer writing practice for Mains now. One 250-word answer per day builds enormous skill over time.
  • Fix your optional subject early. Choose based on your background and start preparation before the notification.
