Age Relaxation Dismissed — The Final Verdict
"The proposal for age relaxation has been returned by the Raj Bhawan citing incomplete formalities. With the exam expected in September 2026, aspirants must now prepare with the existing age criteria — no extensions will be granted."
Age Relaxation Proposal REJECTED: The much-demanded age relaxation for JKPSI Sub-Inspector (Notification No. 02 of 2024) has been dismissed. The file was sent back by Raj Bhavan citing incomplete formalities. With the written examination expected in September 2026, there is zero possibility of any relaxation before the exam. Aspirants must accept the existing age limits and shift focus entirely to preparation.
CURRENT AGE LIMITS — NO CHANGES
- Open Merit (OM): 18 to 28 years (as on 01.01.2024)
- SC / ST / RBA / ALC / IB / EWS / PSP: 18 to 28 years (with category relaxation as per SRO 202 of 2018)
- Ex-Servicemen: Upper age relaxation as per government rules
- Critical Note: Age calculated as on 01 January 2024 — no extensions, no exceptions
The Bureaucratic Deadlock: The proposal was forwarded to Raj Bhavan but returned citing incomplete formalities. With the exam now expected in September 2026, the window for any policy change has permanently closed. Aspirants who crossed 28 after 01.01.2024 are now officially ineligible for this recruitment cycle.
